Why is the Market in Buckley closing?
Our lease is ending, and we’ve outgrown the space. It was a 5-year pandemic solution, and we are now evolving to an online service with no storefront.
When is the last day for the Market?
The last day for in-person shopping will be September 26th, 2025, before we transition to 100% online shopping. We will be moving out of the Market during month of October 2025.
Will you open another in-person Market somewhere else?
No. We are evolving to a 100% online service.
What does it mean that GoodRoots is moving to an In-Network Model?
GoodRoots is moving to an In-Network Model, which means only communities with active locker sites and local support can shop online. If you’re outside these areas, service will pause after August 29th, 2025, but we hope to expand in the future through new community partnerships.
What communities have In-Network lockers?
Bonney Lake, Buckley, Carbonado, Orting, South Prairie, and Wilkeson. Sumner and Puyallup are coming soon and considered In-Network.
What can I do if my city is not In-Network?
If your city is not In-Network, you won’t be able to shop (in person or online) after August 29th, 2025 - but we encourage you to contact your local leaders to explore bringing a locker site to your community in the future.
How do I shop online?
Visit goodroots.org click “Shop Now” and sign in or register. Pick your items and choose a locker location and pickup date. For assistance you can call or text 253-303-5909. We will also have a video for you to watch that explains the process.
How often can I shop?
Once per week.
What happens after I order?
You’ll get a text or email. At the locker, pick up using your code, QR code, Member ID, or phone number.
Can I get the same food I like at the Market?
Yes. You will still find fresh, frozen, pantry items – all online. The lockers are refrigerated.
Can someone help me with online shopping?
Yes, call 253-303-5909 or stop by our demo locker at the Market.
What if I don’t have internet?
You can call or text us to order by phone at 253-303-5909.
What about senior citizens?
For senior citizens, we have volunteers who will visit local senior centers to help place weekly orders. Seniors can also order over the phone at 253-303-5909.
Can someone else pick it up for me?
Yes. Just send them your pickup code or QR code.
What if I miss my pickup?
Call us ASAP at 253-303-5909. We can reschedule your pickup.
Are the lockers secure?
Yes. They’re refrigerated, monitored, and contactless.
What will happen to the Market building?
Our landlord will be leasing it to someone else. Luckily, we will be able to keep all our fixtures and refrigeration.
