February 14, 2024

The wind was cold, but our hearts were warm….as we celebrated the launch of our first network locker location at the Bonney Lake Library. Symbolic that libraries represent access to knowledge and that the lockers represent access to food. All of our partners, stakeholders, and community champions were in attendance and the LOVE of community could not be denied.

Yesterday’s ribbon cutting marked the first community location in our network of 6. With Buckley and Bonney Lake now launched, we turn our sites to Wilkeson, Carbonado, and Orting launch dates in 2024. Our initial pilot site next to The Market now serves 20% of our overall visitors and holds the record for the highest visited nonprofit locker unit in the nation based on data from the manufacturer, Bell and Howell. This event also marked the significance of what true collaborative efforts can look like when multiple agencies activate for a common goal. And just like that, GoodRoots NW became a franchise brand.

Special thanks to our partners that made this launch happen.

The dedication on the locker wrap reads as follows…

And a fun note, Senior Librarian Erin Muske (center of the photo) got the honor of cutting the ribbon, as she has personally been such a champion of our work. And it was also her birthday.
